The Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism has recently announced the possible changes that will take place later in 2012 for Federal Skilled Workers applying to come to Canada. Usually these changes are officially published by the end of June each year. As written in our last article Federal Skilled Workers “The Backlog”, Jason Kenney, the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism has recently announced that around 280,000 Federal Skilled Worker applications will be returned to the applicants from different Visa Offices all over the world. Most of these applicants have been waiting for years to have their files processed and now after a long wait they will get the application fees back and their documents along with an invitation to apply again under the new Ministerial Instructions.
On March 30th, 2012 the Government of Canada has announced that in order to reduce the backlog of applications under the Federal Skilled Worker category, around 280,000 applications will be returned and the processing fees paid by these applicants will be returned. The Government is focusing on meeting the current economic needs of the country and from the Government’s point of view applications that were filed before 2008 are too old to meet the new demands.
